What is a Martinez?

The Martinez cocktail is one of the most iconic classic cocktails – yet it's so much more than that. It's also one of the best Genever cocktails there is and, according to many, the predecessor of the Martini cocktail. A well-stirred Martinez is practically perfect in every way.

It's a powerful cocktail to be sipped slowly with gorgeous viscosity and a strong body. The flavours reveal themselves gradually, layer after layer and eventually unite in the long, rich aftertaste.

How to make a Martinez?

Pour all the ingredients into a chilled mixing glass and fill it with ice. Stir the cocktail for about 20 seconds and strain it into a chilled coupe or martini glass. Garnish the cocktail with orange zest.
